Visiting Professor at SALDRU and the Poverty and Inequality Initiative, Hiroyuki Hino, travelled to Brussels to speak at an event hosted by Think Tank, Friends of Europe. The event titled, “Europe, Japan and Africa: Facing up together to Africa’s infrastructure challenges”, brought together international experts to frame the challenges and present solutions.

Prof. Hino’s input focused specifically on the lack of access to water in Africa. Arguing that affordability is a major constraint to access, he “stressed the value of partnerships in the public sector” to address Africa’s water problems.

Listen to Prof. Hino’s 10-minute input on Sound Cloud. He starts talking at 11:45.
