The Department of Science and Technology’s 2018/19 Budget Vote was delivered in Parliament on 9 May 2018 under the theme, “Advancing the legacy of Mama Albertina Sisulu through people-centred science and technology”, in honour of the struggle stalwart’s centenary.
SALDRU’s Murray Leibbrandt delivered the Budget Vote Speech in his capacity as NRF-DST Research Chair in Poverty and Inequality Research at the Department of Science and Technology’s Budget Vote Briefing, which took place at the Iziko South African Museum.
SALDRU and NIDS (South Africa’s national panel study that SALDRU currently implements on behalf of the Department of Planning Monitoring and Evaluation) were represented at the National Research Foundation (NRF) exhibition stand, which was visited by the Minister of Science and Technology, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane.
