SALDRU has done a range of work in this area over the last few years, including:
- Training and updates for the Department of Social Development for their model of the cost of the social grant system
- A tax-transfer microsimulation model for the National Treasury
- The analysis of a survey of grant beneficiaries for the Department of Social Development
- Work on the mitigating effect of social transfers for a project entitled “Demographic and Poverty
- Dynamics in an African population with High AIDS Mortality and Implications for Social Policy” with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and University of KwaZulu-Natal
