The Siyaphambili website provides an interactive platform to track qualification attainment in South Africa.
We recognise that South African post-school qualifications information is available, but not in an interactive or readily accessible format for policy makers and the general public. The website exists to create such a platform.
A strong motivator behind the website is the need to share information and create awareness about South Africa’s skills needs. We derive ‘goal 2030’, a reference against which to measure year-on-year progress in qualification attainment.
The graphs on the website are derived from publicly available StatsSA data. Tables containing the values shown in the graphs are also downloadable in Excel format.
The Siyaphambili website was funded by the Kresge Foundation and inspired by the Lumina Foundation’s Stronger Nation interactive website, which tracks American qualifications beyond high school.
Alongside its website, Siyaphambili aims to make information about post-school education and training in South Africa more widely accessible. View pathways, qualifications, and organisations making up the system.
