Partnerships African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research UCT has launched the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR), under the banner of theĀ African Research Universities Alliance. Housed at UCT, under the direction of Prof. Murray Leibbrandt, the centre will mobilise top African experts on inequality and bring them together for research and teaching purposes. Coronavirus Rapid Mobile Survey (CRAM) Coronavirus Rapid Mobile Survey (CRAM) is a collaborative study which, in the context of the global Coronavirus pandemic, aims to inform policy using rapid reliable research on income, employment and welfare in South Africa. Poverty and Inequality Initiative The PII has two aims: to consolidate, strengthen and maximise the usefulness of the research taking place within UCT on poverty and inequality; and to launch a national initiative on strategies to overcome poverty and inequality that includes the research community as well as those inside government and NGOs making and implementing policy.
