Kim is Manager of Research, Operations and Data in the SALDRU Survey and Data Hub, where she assists with the oversight of the operations of the SALDRU Survey and Data Hub and oversees the research and communications of the Hub, with a focus on survey methods. Kim is currently also working on harmonizing the NIDS and NIDS-CRAM data to the Cross-National Equivalent File (CNEF), and compiles the monthly SALDRU newsletter, maintains the SALDRU website and SALDRU’s social media presence.
Before her current role, Kim worked on several projects run in SALDRU. She co-headed data collection and data quality on the COVID-19 Vaccine Survey (CVACS) and the National Income Dynamics Study – Coronavirus Rapid Mobile Survey (NIDS-CRAM). Before this she worked on two other surveys in SALDRU: the National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS) and the Land Restitution Evaluation Study (LRES); and a higher-education-focused research project in SALDRU, Siyaphambili. Kim has also consulted on questionnaire design of other data collection projects, both within SALDRU and externally.
She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Cape Town.
